A Bullet's The Same In Every Language
A Hug's The Same In Every Language
"There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep sea and the music in its roar;
I love not man the less, but Nature more."
— Lord Byron
Bosco/ The Wilderness
A place to be your self, to call home, a place where you meet new friends and new people. Your world, the world as you know it flips upside down and exposes a whole new side. You spend ten days eating, breathing, and sleeping in the arms of mother nature, embracing her every challenge. Her tactics and thoughts are expressed in the most simplest of ways. The blistering heat, the sudden down pour of rain, or the call of the loon at dusk.
At Bosco, we live as one, dance, laugh, and love together. Kilometer after another we hike, through swamp and rain, comforting and encouraging one another to push on. In the end, it's all worth it because no matter what happens in your life after camp, you will always remember what happened during those ten days. New relationships are born and together they embrace the nature life, the good life.
I feel as if before this trip I took everything for granted. Food, water, and shelter, shoes, clothes and the easy life. Who knew an apple could taste so good or a tent could be just as cozy as your own house. I was only out for ten days, I got some bruises, some bug bites, a leech bite.. but that was only a taste of what I wanted. Next year it's time to take another step and experience it all again.
I realized the beauty of the world is too much to take in in ones life time, but while I'm still walking this earth with my own two feet, I will soak it up like a sponge as much a humanly possibly. Living the dream of living with mother nature hand in hand.
You hike hill after hill, turning from one path to another not knowing where you're really going. You lead yourself until you're good and lost , the you find your way back while finding yourself. You get a lot of time to think and wonder why people don't take the time to admire the wild. I suggest taking a trip one day and losing yourself to the wild. Giving yourself willingly to mother nature. You will become nature drunk and high, guarunteed.
One word to summarize the experience: ALE

Backpacking/hiking, mother nature, and longboarding is what I do.
