The 30 seconds before the board drops feels like 5 minutes, the five seconds after that feel like forever. The whole world seems to stop, everything is quiet even though there is fourty bikes pinned out all around you, ALL CALM BEFORE THE STORM. We are all still safe for a little while longer. BOOM The gate slams to the ground and we all take off charging into battle, 400 pounds of man and machine in a full contact, high speed braul. The next 20 minutes are the roughest, most brutal 20 minutes of your life! Absolute HELL!!! When you get back to your pit you are dead tired, dehidrated and ready to pass out with welts all across the front of your body. WOULD YOU WANNA QUIT??
We rest for an hour and go out and do it all over again just as hard, just as fast and with just as much pride! WHY??
