So, it would seem to me, that mothers are ruining their daughters self-esteem without even realizing it. Kinda funny I guess, but not at the same time.

It's just, girls are always trying to make themselves look as nice as possible. Everyone knows that. And a young girl, from probably the age of three to her late teens, will hear grown women complaining about their looks. Whether it's their complexion, their stomach, the size of their breasts, yeah I know, their height, or whatever, they always find something to complain about. The young girls are watching this, and subconciously thinking that they are supposed to behave this way. They will start making complaints like "I'm fat" or "I have terrible skin" or "My boobs are too small/too big" and it's always men and media that are getting the blame for this. Did anyone ever think that it's because young girls look up to grown women? I bet not. If mother's would just take the time to complement themselves, not sounding self-conceived, but just a nice comment like "I think I like my hair this way" or "I like how this shirt looks on me" and not focus on negatives or even positives about one area. Just a simple complement, it would do wonders for their daughters. They would be a lot happier with themselves if they thought they were supposed to be.

By the way, I read this on some news site, so I never got the idea myself.

But really, just consider it, and comment and let me know if you agree or not.
