There's been no free ride in Hedley's steady climb to the top, and much of their huge appeal lies in the band members' refusal to take themselves too seriously. "We're not rocket scientists—or rocket surgeons," chuckles Hoggard. "We're the same jerks we've always been. But our show is no longer about flashing lights and us running around pulling our pants down – we've really grown as writers, musicians and performers, so now it's the full entertainment package." Q: So you guys have been on tour a lot in the past few years, do you ever really want to just stop the tour sometimes and go home?
Jake: Well you know of course we're going to miss our families being on the road so much but we kinda are our own family. Like my buddy Tommy here; he's my little cuddle bear.
Tommy: That's true. Jacob has definitely got some cuddle skills, but sometimes it's a little uncomfortable. Almost feels like he has a flashlight or something in his pocket..

Q: What would be your guys' dream concert to perform?
Jake: you know I've always wondered what it would be like to be in one of those big huge guinea pig balls, but for humans. Walk all over the audience. Damn that'd be awesome. Maybe something with fire too. Pull a Gene Simmons and spit some flame.

Q: So this question is for Dave, You were at one point a Prince George citizen. How does it feel performing at a familiar place such as that?
Dave: Well it's always exciting going back and seeing how the place has changed and maybe even running into an old friend or co-worker. I remember when I was back doing *whispers* "muscials" I performed in the show Grease at the play house theater. I also taught dance lessons to groups of really talented kids and you know it's just cool going back to your home and being noticed by everyone.

Q: I know in the bands travels of becoming who you are now there must be some influences you guys have had along the way, Who are they?
A: Jacob- I have been influenced by Jimmy Eat World, And the song by Bob Marley Since I was Young.
Tommy- I have been influenced by Steven Tyler
Interviewer- I guess that proves no matter what background you come from you can always come together to make great music.

Q: So there is a rumor you guys named your band after a small town in BC that was up for sale, can you confirm or deny this?
A: No,
Jacob: Hedley is a small town in BC. We stopped there every summer on our way to go camping. It was always a good place to buy beer and sometimes spend a day there. Their population is a approximately 400 and they only have one police officer. Just think of the possibilities*grin*!

Q: With all the awards you guys have won in the 3 short years do you ever stop to think this could all end tomorrow?
A: All good things must come to an end sometime right?, We always work hard and we refuse to be the reason to why it wont work. We are always positive and hopeful and will continue making plans well into the future for making music.

Q: What is one question you guys have always wanted to be asked?
A: Oh that's an easy one, Q- Can i buy your dinner. That answer would obviously be "Yes"

Q: What is your best advice for a Band just starting out like you guys once were?

Answer 1) J- I think I would just shove our albums down their pants, so they know how it feels. I'm proud of how well we have done and it's better than any thing that would have come out of Canadian idol.

Question 2) Do you guys think if you had the chance to buy the town of Hedley right now, would you?
Answer 2) J- Fuck no, we still don't have enough money for that.

Question 4) What's your favorite Hedley released song?
Answer 4) J- It has to be Don't talk to strangers, because the song is based on a semi-fictional event, and its so raw. Its just an interesting story and very fun.
C- Mine would be 321 because it's so upbeat and just thrilling.
D- I think I'd choose never too late because it's so mellow and it reminds me of summer.
T- Right now, I would choose perfect because it's so musically balanced and very emotional.

Question 5) If you could open up or perform for any event in the world, which event would it be?
Answer 5) J- I think we just did it. The Olympic victory ceremony was the most spectacular performance we've ever done.
D- It was fantastic to be a part of such a cultural experience for the world.

A. Not at all. (sarcasim) Of course, I just tried to make the best album I could. I ended up writting about 45 songs for it, most of them were fucking terrible, but I'm really proud of the final cut of it.

Q. You guys take off your clothes a lot. Why?
A. Jacob: Like have you looked at me, i'm fucking sexy.
Chris: I agree with Jacob, who the fuck doesn't want us naked?
Tommy: Exactly, we are fucking hot. Besides it's hard work up there on stage, it's nice to just ... take it all off.

Q: Your band is known to swap a little spit in videos. If you could take any audience member behind you, and give them a big sloppy kiss, who would it be?
A: Jacob: Oh, we've swapped more than spit! Haha Only kidding...Yah but no, that guy with glasses to my left. He looks like a stallion :winks at guy:

Q: Where did you come up with the song title, "Don't Talk to Strangers"? Personal experience?
A: Dave: This guy offered me candy once if I got in his van, he promised a pony was in there too.
Chris: Man, that was yesterday and there was a pony in there! I saw it!

Q: You guys are pretty sarcastic a lot of the time, kidding around aside, aren't you worried your music wont be taken seriously?

A: Tommy: Obviously the crab, We aren't into that twilight shit.. no offence intended.
Jacob: My mom read twilight to me every night before I went to bed for about 3 months.

Q: If you could do in real life, without cameras rolling, what you did in the "321" music video, would you? and where?
A: Chris: I totally would! NO DOUBT ABOUT IT! I personally, would do it at superstore, BECAUSE REAL CANADIAN SUPERSTORES ARE THE PLACE TO BE!
Dave: I agree one hundred percent eh.

Q:How would you describe yourselves in one sentence?
A: Hedley: The sexiest motherfuckers your dad has ever swung at with a baseball bat.

Q: If you could live anywhere for the rest of your life where would it be?
Jacob: Mom's basement, easy.
Dave: Jacob's mom's basement, duhhh!
Tommy: JACOB'S MOMS BASEMENT IS THE PLACE TO BE!
Chris: *Turns into the crowd towards a young female fan & points at her* In her mom's basement.

Q: Do you ever get homesick when your on the road?
A: Dave: I honestly think I rarely get homesick, I love being on the road and meeting all the fans, performing and then having some damn good partys afterwards, But sometimes I do wish I could just go sit in Jacob's basement and enjoy a pizza to myself... It's hard not to miss that.
Tommy: I occasionally get homesick, but let me tell you one thing... Home cooked meals are not something I miss when Im on the road. Fast food is totally the shit! WE EAT IT ALL THE TIME! Even when we're at home, Mcdonalds/Burger King/ Wendys, that kind of shit IS our home cooked meal.

Q: What is the craziest thing you've ever seen?
A: Chris: I saw Jacob walk an old lady across the street, without hearing one cuss word or any comment on how wrinkly and saggy her skin is! I was extremely surprised, It didn't seem real to me.
Jacob: She gave me five bucks for walking her across the street, plus she said she liked one of my tattoo's, AND SHE HAD SOFT HAIR, CANT MESS WITH OLD LADYS LIKE THAT! they'll kick your ass.

Q: This is going to be easy for you guys, what body part do you like most?
Jacob: My butt.
Tommy: Jacob's butt.
Dave: Jacob's butt.
Chris: Jacob's penis.
*Long silence*
Chris: HAHA, just kidding... Dave's penis.
