WHAT YOU DID & WHAT YOU GOT

We asked you to show us your scars! ToaD singer Tyler Connolly says that scars are a symbol of "someone's past" and that on the album they are "more metaphorical than physical." Well, that's alright for you artsy musician types out there, but we'd much rather see real examples of distorted tissue and swap stories of jackass accidents gone wrong. So for the users with the best scar stories or gross snap of a skateboarding wound, they scored a pair of tickets to Theory of a Deadman live in concert!

Okay so I have this scar on my back/ass. I obtained it from a weekend in saskatchewan when I went to visit a friend and we trespassed this mining thing that of which contained an unfilled dam. So two of my friends climbed down...Then they were pressuring me to go down so that I did. (keep in mind there was scummy shit all the way down, and it was like a slide almost... except alottttt bigger) I went down successfully, but I fell in the water at the bottom? I was all wet, and when I went to go up... I slipped.. I went all the way down, not knowing a rusty copper pipe was about 2 inches into my ASS tissue. That is why you SHOULD never give into PEER PRESSURE KIDS! Youll get an ugly ass scar that makes your cheek have no feeling!"

I HIT A POLE WHILE I WAS SLEDDING, COULDNT USE MY RIGHT EYE FOR A MONTH IT SUCKED, HAVE A SCAR UNDER MY EYE BROW

This would be my elbow... I was riding my bicycle, on the phone and i wasn't paying attention went up the side of the curb, and hit some gravel. it all went downhill from there.. landed straight on my elbow, and split my 'humerus' bone (funny bone) up the middle. It immediately started to swell. i went to the medi-clinic and got x-rays and they confirmed it was broken and i may have to get surgery. then i had to go to RUH in saskatoon. we went there, and they took more x-rays, and told me i had to get surgery. so, it was a monday when this happened, and i needed surgery on wednesday. so, i went on wednesday to get surgery, and i had to wait eight hours before they were ready to take me in. surgery was about 2 and a half hours. and i came out with a steal plate, and 7 screws permanently in my elbow and i also came out with that beautiful scar. the only annoying thing now, is that i do not have full extension on my arm and everytime i go through those electronic sensors at stores, it goes off because of my arm.

then there was another time me and my brother were having a sword fight when we were younger he was about 4 i was 3 and we were using real knives except i had a butterknife and he had one of those big ones and we started running down the hall and he ended up cutting my arms so i have a scar on my arm in like a shape of a knife kinda going in lol.

i jumped of a dirtbike and my knee landed on the peg.. lol i needed 7 stitchs on the outside and 4 on the inside.

this is from surgery but i got my ovary out and i got these staples in me to hold my stomach together.

Was working in a plastics recycling plant in Calgary, hand-bombing large jagged sheets of lexan out of a truck. One of the sheets sliced through my glove and left me with a nice gash.

i played hockey a lot when i was younger. wearing skates so often when i was little messed up the bone structure in my feet, and last season it got so bad that i had to stop playing & get surgery to fix it. the surgery involved slicing the side of my foot open, sawing the main bone in two places, cutting out a piece of it, moving the two other pieces over, realigning all the bones in my foot, & putting a screw through the two bone segments to hold them together. this is how sexy it looked the day i got my cast off, a month after surgery.

for this one im amazed im alive. I had appendicitis if you don't know what it is itsa when your appendix is rotten and is gunna burs if not fixed. i went into the emergency from that night wait to get my appendix removed but they had to pull me off the table to try to save two people from a car accident. in this time my appendix exploded. it was like a gun shot to your stomach. it hurts soooo much. then i got it removed. but the doctor only could find half of it. i stayed in the hospital for about 2 weeks doing surgery until they found my piece merged under my intestines. now in the mean time my appendix exploded when it did my intestine went in a huge knot making it so i couldn't eat or drink anything.it sucked soo much. when i went for the surgery they gave me a c-section cut which made a cut from past my belly button all the way down close to my crotch. and in the mean time of this all i was in the hospital during christamas and new years. i got out on April 5th. the day after my birthday./ i failed all grade 7 because of it.

#1 hunting arrow acident, trying to make a fort using a foam matress anr hunting arrows in the corner to stand it up, pushed to hard and it sliped through cuting almost completley off i knew there was a reason i didnt get stitches!!
#2 hatchet acident/ taruntula, making kindling to start a fire i missed the block of wood and came down on my finger holding it/ huge tarantula bit me. scar on the right looks like a smiley face is from the hatchet the on on the left is taruntula teeth
#3 randomly apearing scars from mexico, these scars came along with diaeaha + unconsiousness = shitty morning lol a week in bed refusing to eat or drink, constantly puking, extreemly painfull holes in stomach thet were also itchy, mexican needle's :( there half a foot long and go right in your ass cheek :cry:
#4 picture it 6 year olds showing off by seeing who could jump off the higest step on the deck, for some reason i thought i could clear them all WRONG anyways spiderman didnt save me so i hit the ground with a crack( my elbow) this scar is from the peice of bone that came out as well as the humungus pin they put in my arm which was taken out with no pain killers and totly concious!!!

I got my finger chopped off when I was 12 in a skating rink .. it made me scared to go anywhere near zamboni doors again .. it's a scar that reminds me to be careful.

I was snowboarding in 2007 at Edmonton Ski Club and i was trying to copy what my friend was doing, who is way better than me. What she did was i think carve down sideways or something, i almost can't remember. But I know i wiped out, tumbled down the hill, got up, and had that on my side. I probably had a lot more things wrong but my parents never take me to the doctor over snowboard injuries. It reminds me to never go hard or fast down a hill.

i was out campin and my friend picked up a piece of glass (he was wering gloves) and threw it because it was going through his glove and i dident no so when he threw it i caught it and it burn my hand and my hand swelled hardcore

I was with my buds, summer of 2007 and we had 2 grocery carts and we were racing down a grass hill downtown. The hill ended, me and my buddy went flying, i got hurt way worse, we both flipped out of the carts and a part of the wheel im pretty sure scratched down my head, i was uncocncious and i had to go to the hospital and get 32 stiches.

I was juuust leaving the tattoo shop [February of 2006], after getting the biggest part of the tattoo on my back, wearing of course my big stomping boots, I walk down two, count it two stairs, and trip. My foot rolls outwards, breaking the bone on the outside, separating the joint. I tried to stand, no dice. So I went to emerg, they told me it was all good and broken and hauled me into surgery. Sooo a metal plate, 7 screws holding the metal to my bone, and 3 holding the break together we have this, voila. I literally had a cankle. It was awesome.

I volunteer every year to clean up the town and our environment, it was near the end of the day and we were all headed back to the meeting place to go home and clean up. I let my group walk ahead of me while I went to pick up garbage and beer bottles that we must have missed, and then gradually caught up to them. My friend must have heard me trying to catch up or something because she stoped and turned around as if to wait for me, but instead started to scream and run at me. I didn’t know what she was planning on doing so I calmly dropped the bag of garbage I was holding and raised my hands to tell her to stop. But in all reality as soon as I raised my hands I was no longer the calm one. One third of my palm and 4 cm down my wrist was a huge gash revealing tissue and bone, and behind me was a tidy trail of blood. I was rushed to emergency and placed in a room lying down for an hour. When the doctor had finally come in I had completely soaked the floor below my arm and the towel neatly placed over it. He glared at me (I’m serious)then him and the nurse looked at me disappointedly, and he began stiching my wrist and hand, WITHOUT numbing the area. Man I was so pissed then after the fact I realized he had thought that I had attempted suicide. But all in all I’m a little proud the scar didn’t turn out as big as predicted but also disappointed that my vein pops out all the time. The irony in it all is I tried to do something good and ended up getting hurt and accused of attempting to end my life … HAHA lol well that’s the way it goes. ( I still don’t know who picked up the garbage bag I dropped L)

this is when i got hit by a drunk driver. road rash. it was a hit and run, so now i sufffer with scars and musscle damage and nerve damage. but i am lucky that this is all that happened.

When I was 15 they found a tumor on my spine, and I have had 5 surgeries to get it fixed. I decided to get it tattooed and haven't been back to finish it, because I can't bare the pain associated with it. In total I have three scares on my back, the other two are below and to each side, so it looks like I have a giant arrow pointing at my ass.... quess I should have got "this side up" tattooed instead.
